Last year, an event took place in Palo Alto which brought together 12 of the company's top managers from around the world. The participants had nine different native languages.
The customer needed simultaneous interpretation into eight languages for two days.
The company could have done it the traditional way — using eight booths at the event site and paying transfer and accommodation costs for 16 interpreters of Korean, Japanese, Thai, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, and Russian.
Organizing this would have been both prohibitively expensive and time-consuming.
The client chose a different solution — SPEAKUS. It was easy to implement: we took one laptop to the site and connected it to the broadcast channel. The translators received video footage and sound directly from the site and provided simultaneous interpretation from different parts of the world.
This helped the customer cut organizational costs significantly.
